this one“If you don’t feel you cannot heal…Our bodies speak the truth. We must be in touch to live our true destiny.” – Bernie Siegel MD

Many of our Camp Challenge Campers who are cancer patients will tell you that aside from their loved ones, when they are touched, it is often for treatment – needles, machines, radiation, chemotherapy, etc.  Perhaps that’s why Camp Challenge’s Day Spa is such hit! Spa Director Cheryl Small Robinson (that’s her and her fabulous hubby, Dave, in the photo) and a small army of massage therapists, manicurists, aestheticians, and stylists pamper our campers with endless TLC.  Cheryl , Dave,  and the rest of the spa staff transform a building at Walker Creek Ranch into a beautiful, magical, spiritual sanctuary where campers’ bodies and minds are pampered with treatments of their choice.

A study that examined the effects of therapeutic massage on cancer pain found that massage therapy reduced pain perception by an average of 60%, decreased anxiety by 24% and enhanced relaxation by 58%. Plus it feels really, really good!

When she is not volunteering her time and amazing skills with the Me-One Foundation, Cheryl Small Robinson runs the Comfort Zone Massage and Wellness Center in Roseville at 426 Folsom Road. (916-773-2444)
